Welcome back to another school year in Simcoe County. Please try to attend our General Meetings so that you may participate in the professional life of your Federation... the dates are listed on the "Dates" page of this website. Our new Professional Development workshops are also listed on this site, along with on-line registration.

It has been a difficult time with declining enrollment and the redundant teacher situation; however, LTO positions are still being posted and will continue to be posted as positions become available. I suggest that members visit the Board website frequently for updates.

Your bargaining team has worked hard on your behalf to negotiate many gains to the new Collective Agreement and we encourage all members to help ensure that the new Agreement is enforced. To that end, should you encounter any infractions, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the Local's Executive for their advice and action. Your local delegates to this year's ETFO Annual General Meeting (AGM) are happy to report that they were pleased to represent you, voting on resolutions that not only advanced the good of the Federation as a whole, but also you as an Occasional Teacher.

A highlight of this year's AGM was the awarding of an Honourary Lifetime Membership Award to our Past President Bob Blackwood. I feel confident that you would all like to take this opportunity, along with me, to congratulate Bob on this momentous occasion.
